Stepping down from Hey was a tough call, but the reality is simple: the platform couldn't sustain itself.Hey Pro and Hey Names were always optional. Out of 850k users, only around 2000 chose Pro at 20 USD each, roughly 40k USD a year. Hey Names added about 1k USD. So around 41k USD total in a full year, which wasn't enough to run the platform at the scale people expected without funding it from our own pockets. More than 99 percent of users enjoyed Hey completely free.Hey never promised tokens or airdrops. It was never built for farming. It was a social client on top of Lens, not a protocol, not a treasury, not a place where we controlled funds. We shipped consistently for four years, added features non stop, and kept everything fully transparent. Even when accidents happened, refunds and explanations were handled publicly.The code stays open. No lock-ins, no hidden incentives, just a community tool that reached its limit financially. Grateful to everyone who supported the journey, and the community can continue shaping what comes next.Hope this clarifies everything.
