i do believe that with everything that is going on, it will be really important for each artist to have their own place where they can build their own world. the first iteration of mine is now live. most of the things i’m going to experiment with will be added as single pieces to the puzzle i’m designing with the hidden i. i’m planning to take it irl as well. the zine i am working on is the first embodiment of that.🌹https://thehiddeni.com/

my zine is officially live. it's something i've dedicated the past months to, and i'm really proud of how it turned out. i wouldn't have done it any other way. i decided to make it available for collection directly on Orb as well because i believe that what these decentralized social spaces need is more art, and i want to do my work alongside my fellow artists.how it works:- there are 10 editions available. once they sell out, more may be added based on demand
- once you collect this post, send me a DM here or on any other platform (
@eduardmsmr on X, Instagram, Farcaster, and Telegram) with your shipping details.
- the price is 40 GHO and includes worldwide free shipping. if you'd like to collect more than one edition, let me know and we'll figure it out.
- any questions are welcome below or in my DMs.a note on the zine:i've come to believe that finite things may be some of the last that stay human. a thing that ends is a thing you stay present with, because it can't go on forever the way everything else now does. this is one of those things. for a while now my work has been in conversation with what remains human when everything is being replaced, and i have yet to find an answer. maybe i never will. but i know that this zine is one of my attempts to get closer to it. and if there is anything resonant in these pages, it is only by God's will. without Him, i wouldn't have had the strength or inspiration to make them. and i hope that something you found here still feels true to you years from now, because the strange thing about finite things is that they're the ones that last. thank you!!!the zine can also be collected on farcaster or my website, depending on the path you prefer!🌹
found this beast today!!🌹
the idea that i have to do one thing only to become recognizable is perhaps the thing i hate most about these algorithms. i've always hated niching, i never understood why we're asked to do it. the internet used to be cool back in the day, when people shared their whole multitude of interests. thankfully virgil abloh was the one who opened my mind to the fact that i can be and do more than just one thing. i didn't understand him at first, but now i do. and all of these thoughts made me reflect on what happened to the cool internet. link below🌹https://thehiddeni.substack.com/p/how-virgil-abloh-ruined-niching-for
looking at how easy creation has become, i am definitely seeing the idea of creation as the new consumption being true. i mean, with ai we can now create faster and more than we ever could. and i agree that most of it is slop, but slop can be created faster and in much bigger volumes now thanks to ai. and so, some of us are spending more time creating than consuming, and because creation has been democratized, it may have become the new consumption.🌹
i don’t think i will ever want to stop long-form writing and i will always encourage people to do this because it truly is one of the few things that keeps my mind fully active, and maybe the one that truly makes me understand a topic the best, regardless of how much i read or listen to someone else talking about it.🌹
the way i curate what i want to save from what i consume is not by focusing on the numbers a thing has made, but rather on the way it has made me feel. there are so many cool things i am consuming, but only a few i am actually saving, simply because all the others aren’t moving me in any way. not sure what this means, but this is how i curate.🌹
content has become fast fashion is something i wrote about 4 months ago, and it has become more clear and more true every single day since then🌹https://thehiddeni.substack.com/p/i-dont-know-what-we-are-making-anymore
i think slop exists because all we want to do is feed the algorithm, and the algorithm always asks for more.most of what we make feels weightless because the only thing we now know is that we have to keep making. but why? for whom?🌹
i think that if we managed to detach from the influence metrics have on us, our work would be much, much better. no matter how little we claim to care about them, even the smallest thought we give them bends the work one way or another🌹
