INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS:Bomas International Convention Complex.Construction begins in two weeks transforming Bomas into a world-class conferencing hub, eventually enhancing Kenya’s global event-hosting capabilities.
Talanta Hela Stadium. The 60,000-seater stadium in Nairobi is 40% complete. The stadium will be Kenya’s largest upon completion by the end of this year(2025), modernizing sports infrastructure.
This is the first such project since Moi International Sports Centre 45 years ago.Rironi-Mau Summit Road. The 170 km four-lane dual carriageway project shall start in June 1, 2025, with a completion projection by June 2027.
The initiative will ease the perennial traffic congestion between Nairobi, Nakuru, and Western Kenya.2. TOURISM SECTOR: International arrivals rose 14.6% in 2024 to 2.4 million, generating KSh 452.2 billion. With a projected 3 million arrivals expected expected in 2025, there's need to build a leverage. Domestic tourism also grew, with a 12% rise in bed-night occupancy.The government is shifting focus to Sustainable tourism, MICE facilities, cruise tourism, and eco-friendly practices. 3. PUBLIC HEALTH: A nationwide asbestos removal program shall be activated targeting public and private facilities to reduce health risks like lung cancer and mesothelioma.The initiative shall be overseen by NEMA, with property owners funding removal under the ‘Polluter Pays’ principle. County governments will establish disposal sites.4. YOUTH EMPLOYMENT:The Internship and Volunteer Policy will establish a new framework that will standardize intern and volunteer recruitment in public service, addressing unemployment among graduates.Offering fair engagement terms, hands-on skills development, and pathways to employment, while formalizing volunteerism for disaster response and community service.5. WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT: Development of National Policy to remove barriers to women’s economic participation, aligning with Vision 2030 and constitutional goals with an objective to support women entrepreneurs, enhance financial inclusion, and promote gender-sensitive data collection through public-private partnerships.6. REFUGEE MANAGEMENT: The Shirika Plan introduces a new approach to refugees shifting from humanitarian aid to development by integrating refugees into sustainable settlements with infrastructure and economic opportunities in collaboration with stakeholders like UNHCR, NGOs, and faith-based organizations.#DeliveringThePlan
