Are you always on?I was. And I did not realize how mentally exhausting it had become.Somewhere along the way, I had given everyone unlimited access to me. Every call felt like it needed answered. Every text needed a response. Every email deserved attention. I had conditioned myself to believe being available meant being dependable.Eventually I realized I had lost something important.Disconnection.That space where nobody needs anything from you. Where there are no questions to answer, problems to solve, or expectations to meet. A place where your mind can simply be present. What really created the imbalance was my expectation that others would give me the same access I gave them. But that was not their responsibility. It was mine. I created the expectation because I assumed people would respond the way I did. They will not.And that is okay. But here was the bigger realization. I also needed to stop expecting myself to always be me.I did not have to respond immediately. I did not have to treat every notification like an emergency. I could disconnect and the world would keep moving. And it did.The important things still got done. The people who truly needed me still had me. But I began protecting the space between everyone else’s needs and my own energy. You do not owe everyone unlimited access to you.Sometimes protecting your energy means disconnecting long enough to remember that you have a choice where it goes.Your energy is valuable.Spend it intentionally. If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. What if you have been searching in the wrong place? We are told our whole lives to just be ourselves. But I think there is a question we rarely stop long enough to ask.Who is that self?We can spend years searching for ourselves through relationships, careers, money, possessions, accomplishments, approval, and experiences. We keep gathering things hoping eventually we will find the person we were meant to be.But your True Self was never out there waiting to be found. It has always been within you waiting to be practiced.I believe the True Self is built around four things.Gratitude. Recognizing that we are owed nothing and learning to see the people, moments, opportunities, and experiences in our lives as gifts.Compassion. Giving to another person without needing recognition, repayment, or reward.Empathy. Trying to understand someone else’s journey without judgment and without making their experience about our own.Forgiveness. Releasing the catabolic energy we continue carrying toward those who hurt us, while also learning to forgive ourselves. Forgiveness does not mean allowing continued access. We can forgive and still have healthy boundaries. This is not something you discover once. It is something you practice daily. And maybe that is why so many people struggle to find sustainable happiness. They are trying to gather from the outside what can only be produced from within.Practice gratitude. Give compassion. Choose empathy. Release through forgiveness.Stop searching for your True Self.Start producing it.If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. What beliefs are you reinforcing every time you talk?Yesterday I was talking to a guy about sleep and how our bodies use it to physically recover from what we put them through during the day.He believed seven hours was his number. Anything less meant he did not get enough sleep. I understood because I used to have my own belief about sleep. There was a time when I was getting only two or three hours a night and convinced myself I was an insomniac. I said it enough that eventually my mind accepted it as part of who I was. Then I started questioning the belief.I realized there were days when I simply was not demanding enough from my body to require the recovery I thought I needed. Today I challenge my body throughout the day, and my sleep recovery is usually close to perfect. Do I sometimes wake up thinking I am tired? Absolutely. But I have learned to question whether my body is actually tired or whether my mind is repeating an old story. And that made me realize something much bigger.Your mind is always listening. Not only when you talk to yourself, but when you talk to other people. Every time you say I cannot, life is hard, people cannot be trusted, I am terrible at this, or nothing ever works out for me, your mind hears it. Repeat it enough and you reinforce the belief behind it.Your words are constantly teaching your mind what to believe. So listen to yourself today. Listen to what you say internally and what you say out loud to others. Question the beliefs behind those words. Keep the ones that help you grow and replace the ones that limit you.Become your greatest supporter instead of your greatest critic.Because your mind is always listening. If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. Are you lost or simply unaware?I have learned that when we feel lost in life, most of the time we do not need someone to give us all the answers. We need to become aware enough to acknowledge that there is something we do not know yet. That is where growth begins.Acknowledge what you do not know and then educate yourself. Become curious. Ask questions. Read. Listen. Learn. Expand your awareness because you cannot change something you have not yet become aware of.But knowledge alone will never change your life. There comes a point when you have to commit. You have to take what you know and turn it into action. We can understand exactly what needs to change, but until we actually do something, our results remain the same. Then comes the part where most people struggle.Consistency.One action can create momentum, but consistent action creates transformation. It is what you repeatedly choose today, tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year that begins changing your habits, your identity, and ultimately your life. This is where you become powerful. Acknowledging gives you knowledge. Commitment gives you direction. Consistency turns those actions into who you become. So if you feel lost today, do not try to figure out your entire life.Acknowledge what needs to change.Commit to one action. Then become recklessly consistent with it.Your potential is already there. Your responsibility is to start living up to it.If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. When was the last time you challenged your own truth?I was talking with a younger gentleman at the gym today about truth and perception. I told him something I have come to understand more as I have gotten older. We all have our own version of truth because we are looking at life through different eyes.None of us experiences the world exactly the same. Everything we see passes through the filter of our experiences, fears, conditioning, successes, failures, beliefs, and everything we have been taught along the way. When something passes through that filter enough times, it can become a belief. And once it becomes a belief, we often stop questioning whether it is actually true. That is where we can limit ourselves without even realizing it.I believe we should challenge our beliefs occasionally, especially the ones influencing how we see ourselves, other people, and what we believe is possible for our lives. This does not mean abandoning everything we believe. It means becoming aware enough to question why we believe it.There are really two possible outcomes. You question a belief and discover that it still holds true, which strengthens your understanding. Or you discover that what you believed was truth was actually your perception of truth. That second possibility requires us to set the ego aside because being wrong does not make us less intelligent. Sometimes discovering we were wrong is exactly how we grow.Awareness gives us the ability to recognize the lens we have been looking through. Accountability allows us to question it. Responsibility gives us the power to choose differently.Growth begins when we become more interested in discovering truth than defending what we already believe. If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. What would one year of consistency create? The other day I talked about changing your life and the three factors it takes to make real change happen.Today I want to talk about the one I believe gets overlooked the most.Consistency.We all understand acknowledgement and commitment. We get excited about starting something new. We decide this time will be different. We commit to becoming healthier, happier, stronger, more successful, or simply becoming more aligned with who we know we can be.But acknowledgement and commitment only starts the journey.Consistency changes you.Because there will be days when you do not feel like doing it. Days when motivation disappears. Days when life gets messy and that old version of you starts negotiating.Maybe tomorrow.Maybe next week.Maybe when things calm down. This is where consistency matters most.Every time you keep the promise you made to yourself, especially when you do not feel like it, you are doing more than completing a habit. You are building trust with yourself. And eventually something powerful happens. What you repeatedly do begins changing who you believe you are.Your actions become evidence. That evidence begins shaping your identity. Your identity begins influencing your choices. And those choices begin creating different results. This is why consistency does not require perfection. You will have bad days. You will stumble. You may even fall back into an old pattern.Get back up and show up again.Acknowledge helps educate. Commitment gets you started. Focus keeps you pointed toward what matters. But consistency compounds everything.WHAT YOU DO FREQUENTLY BECOMES YOUR FREQUENCY.If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. What would you do if fear was not deciding for you?I have learned that overthinking is rarely about thinking too much. Most of the time, it is fear trying to predict an outcome in a life that was never predictable in the first place.Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of embarrassment. Fear of not being enough. Fear of what might happen next. But stop for a moment and ask yourself something. Is the fear real, or are you reacting to a story you created about something that has not even happened? We cannot predict the future absolutely. Yet we can spend hours thinking about an imaginary future until our body begins responding as though it is already real. Our thoughts create emotions. Those emotions influence our actions. And those actions help create our results. That is how fear becomes interference. The problem is not that fear exists. Fear is part of being human. The problem begins when we give fear our attention and surrender the influence we actually have while trying to control something we never could. You do not need control to create a better life. You need awareness of your thoughts. Accountability for the stories you are telling yourself. Responsibility for what you choose to do next.Come back to the present.Ask yourself what you can influence right now. Your thoughts. Your energy. Your choices. Your actions. Your response.Life will always contain uncertainty. Stop wasting your power fighting that uncertainty.Become present enough to recognize your influence and courageous enough to use it.That is how you become more fearless. If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. “How do I change?”And then “It is so hard to.”I get asked this all the time when people find out I am a Life Coach. From clients, strangers, family, and friends. So I try to explain. Maybe it is a bad habit. A limiting belief. A choice they keep making even though they know it is not serving them. Sometimes they simply know they want something different, but they have no idea where to begin. My answer usually starts with another question. What does change look like to you?Because change itself is not nearly as complicated as we make it. At some point, you really can wake up and decide, enough of that. I am going in a different direction. But first you have to be willing to see what needs to change. That requires lowering the ego. Becoming aware of the choices, beliefs, expectations, assumptions, and interpretations that may be creating interference in your life.Real change comes down to three things.Acknowledgment. Commitment. Consistency.Acknowledge what is no longer serving you and become aware of the choices that will.Commit to those new choices. Not just when they are easy. Not just when you feel motivated. Decide this is the direction you are going until new knowledge gives you a better one. Then become consistent.Keep making the choices that add value to your life mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, and personally. That is where transformation happens. You do not become someone new in one giant moment. You become someone new through the choices you repeatedly make.So if you are asking yourself how to change today, start here.Acknowledge for knowledge.Commit to change.Be consistent until your choices become your new way of living. If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. Is comparison stealing your energy?I was talking with a client yesterday who was completely down on themselves. You could feel the catabolic energy in the conversation. They were frustrated, disappointed, and questioning their own value. But the problem was not their potential. The problem was comparison. They kept looking at other people and measuring their life against what they saw. Their success. Their money. Their appearance. Their accomplishments. And every comparison became another reason to believe they were somehow behind.I reminded them of something we all need to remember. If you look long enough, you will always find someone who has more than you. More money. More success. More recognition. More opportunities. You can spend your entire life playing that game and never win.Because you were never supposed to compete with them.Your competition is who you were yesterday. It is your procrastination. Your excuses. Your ego. Your unhealthy choices. The knowledge you keep putting off learning. The habits that drain your energy. The fear that keeps your potential locked away. That is your competition.Stop measuring your life against someone else’s journey and start measuring your growth against your own.Ask yourself one simple question today.Am I becoming better than I was yesterday? Then take one action that proves it.And while you are growing, learn to appreciate what you already have. Growth and contentment can exist together. You can be grateful for where you are while still becoming who you know you can be.Your greatest competition has always been you.And that means the person capable of changing the outcome is you.If this message spoke to you or something within it resonated, I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon. What if being fully alive is the real goal?Somewhere along the way, we convinced ourselves that the goal of life was to be happy all the time.We made happiness the finish line. We started believing that if we found the right person, made enough money, built the right career, or created the perfect life, we would finally arrive and stay there. But happiness is a feeling. And feelings move.Yes, we can learn to create happiness from within. We can practice gratitude, become more present, raise our energy, and intentionally create more moments of happiness. That energy can influence what we attract and create in our lives. But happiness was never meant to be the only measurement of a meaningful life.Maybe happiness is simply the first question. Are you happy? Then go deeper. Are you growing? Are you curious? Are you becoming someone you respect? Are you loving deeply? Are you creating something? Are you willing to risk rejection? Are you doing things that scare you because something meaningful exists on the other side? Some of the greatest moments of growth will not feel good while you are experiencing them.Marriage can be difficult. Raising children can be exhausting. Building something meaningful can be terrifying. Loss can break your heart. Starting over can make you question everything.Yet all of it can be beautiful.I do not want happiness to be my only North Star.I want to be fully alive.I want the laughter and the tears. The victories and the disappointments. The love and the loss. The moments when life gives me exactly what I wanted and the moments that teach me something I never wanted to learn.Maybe living up to your full potential is not about feeling good every day.Maybe it is about becoming so present that you can experience the whole damn thing and still recognize that life is beautiful.I invite you to check out my other ideas in my books sold on Amazon.
