I got you a whole gallon of milk for this one 🥛🫲🏾
Where are the balanced discussions about climate change, AI and its impacts on marginalized communities? I see siloed thoughts for both, and am looking for people who acknowledge both. It’s easy to be no AI and paint everyone regardless of intent or action as willfully negligent to the environmental concerns on our current rate of collective AI consumption. But who out here is doing the real work to solve for x in this case?
Where are the truth seekers using data to show who and what entities are driving the consumption? Or why there is not more rhetoric around enforcing some level of sustainability in terms of energy consumption? Why we are seeing more and more research come out for things like tracking humans by the bacteria under their skin, making AGI without any real ethical guardrails, than why this same technology is being used to determine if a person is allowed to rent or buy a home, have a job, while being trained on data that is known to be biased or uses compromised data sets?
It also feels as if pushing the environmental harm agenda without acknowledging real time harm from lack of informed authenticated representation in data being used to train AI, is like pointing fingers with a blindfold to reality, to foster a semblance of feel good rather than doing the work to truly solve for what is happening. So I look forward to seeing more people who address both✨
… It’s going to wind up being me, isn’t it😆🫠🙃
