From Likes to Meaningful Support
Amazing—thank you for continuing this conversation. It’s very important for us to visualize the end game: the perfect social media platform. We need to make sure we’re taking small steps toward changing the habits of free content and meaningless likes.
Likes have killed the word "social" in social media. They’re an effortless gesture, a meaningless symbol.
We need to move from the simplicity of people clicking "like" to, with the same ease, tipping 1-2 bonsais—with no hesitation or second thoughts. Just like you automatically pay for coffee at a coffee shop.
All I need is 2,000 supporters sharing $1 a month—is that too much to ask? NO! And with that, we could have millions of accounts making a living. That’s how I see the end goal.
Sadly, many in crypto still believe that whatever they pay for with crypto should go up in value. We need to get rid of that mindset on social platforms.
Here, we pay people because we like their work and want them to continue and get better. If I have disposable income, I’m happy to contribute and excited to see how they grow.
Just like people have budgets for entertainment, going out, or food, I imagine a future where people have a social media budget and spend generously. Imagine small creators here having the budget to make a full-feature film, animation, or video game. Without investor constraints, the diversity and level of imagination would grow exponentially.
Just imagining this gives me goosebumps. We’ll talk, connect, create, publish, sell, and crowdfund innovations—all happening here, with your help.

The sticker reactions that can be purchased from the creators at @orb are building a new approach to community interaction. Just because we are used to a pathological way of being on social media and find it difficult not to 'like', doesn't mean it's a bad thing not to have that 'like'. In life, all good things take some effort.
So far social media has rewarded passivity I would like to see a reverse system in @orb and the whole @lens universe that will drive a system that rewards valuable and active responses. I invite you to join the conversation I am curious to hear your opinions: @punkess @christina @cristinaspinei @yoshiromare @ruthless @nilesh @kipto @stani @memester @mindattic @eduardmsmr @potential @iamtherealyakuza
